Capoeira with Pena Verde (Ages 5-10)
Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art that combines dance, gymnastics, and music. Kids who play Capoeira develop their coordination; balance; flexibility; strength; and rhythm. They improve their creative thinking; self-confidence; and ability to work with others. They also develop a beginning Portuguese vocabulary by learning the movements and the music of Capoeira. Capoeira is extremely active and gives the kids the opportunity to express themselves in a fun and positive way!”

Funk Ballet with Aimee Cox(Ages 5-8)
This class is a free-spirited, yet structured, way for children between the ages of 5 and 10 to explore ballet-based movement. Funk Ballet teaches body awareness, coordination, teamwork, grace, strength, fluidity, ballet terminology and alignment, but the young ones will just think they are learning a new way to move, play and FLY. The class play lists will include classical music, but will also expose the funky ballet dancers to jazz and other appropriate genres to increase musicality and awareness of rhythmic and cultural diversity. Classes will build on one another so children will grow as they go, expanding with each new session.

Yoga Trek with Francine Taylor and Katharine James (Ages 5-8)
Yoga poses are introduced to kids through storytelling, music and games. Each week the kid’s go on a yoga adventure to a new “place” (like the moon, the beach, Egypt) Kids learn body awareness, balance, and coordination as well as tools to manage their energy. Feathers, scarves, tubes, bubbles and mat paths make this yoga class the one your kids will like. (Ages 5 to 8)

At Sacred, we insist our youth retain their natural-born right to love themselves in the skin they’re in. All of our kids’ classes emphasize fun, creative exploration, body awareness, and play.
